Yoga Re-TREAT Day 3: Take a Trip with Down Dog, Boat, Legs-Up-the-Wall

Hello and welcome to ReTREAT Day 3!

Aruba, Jamaica... today we sail away :)

Combining Day 1’s experience of length through the whole body, and Day 2’s forward folding at the hips, we’ll now shift perspectives and take a “V” or an “L” shape through several iterations, both upright and inverted, vigorous and deeply relaxing.

Sorry, I realized too late in the editing game that my voice is not picking up in reclining postures, some inversions, or during music play! I will continue to improve sound quality in the future! In the meantime, it is very much possible to get all the benefits out of the practice with occasional lapses in my detailed commentary.

Hello gentle person, Happy almost-August, still solidly Summer Break from school here in Germany, but back-to-school in many parts of the US. Making the most of a lighter season of work myself for reflection, dabbling in seasonal activities and hobbies. Saddened to hear of the delivery truck attack on Berlin Pride, a reminder that we must keep coming together for the cause of love and acceptance, to demonstrate and protest and take political action as well as live our fullest, freest lives....

Hello gentle person, Happy July and Quarter 3, as well as Independence Day to my fellow Americans! Cologne celebrates PRIDE/Christopher Street Day this weekend and I'm also marking 7 years of living here (according to local tradition I'm now a local), the end of the Schoolyear, and the arrival of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere, which has already been hitting hard with a days-long heatwave bringing extreme temperatures to the city. It is also Disability Pride Month! Strawberry Birthday Cake...

Blythe in the sunshine of late spring in Cologne

Hello beautiful, I hope this seasonal transition and email find you well, and that we may dance joyfully through the season. June to me means PRIDE and my birthday month (though Cologne celebrates PRIDE/Christopher Street Day in July), with lots of other significant events, such as Loving Day, Juneteenth, the Summer Solstice, Refugees' Day, end-of-schoolyear celebrations and goodbyes. At this point in the year, I also like to do some midyear reflection, lots of strawberry eating, rose...
