Hello beautiful, I'll keep it short and sweet in this, my last email newsletter of the year. So grateful you are here, in connection online, through digital media and in real life, in class and in conversation this year, lending your presence to my life and the world. Have been celebrating my partner's birthday, the end of the semester and Advanced Dance Program, the holidays with a visit from my cousin and his family, the traditional meals with Ela's family coming next. Feeling very fortunate to mark the season with such lavish feasting and treats. It hasn't been an easy year for many, but we've made the most of it. The work of reflection is part of what this time of year is about for me, yes going out and being present and celebrating as well, but also then going inward, looking back and forward. To that end, I am planning to take the time between Christmas Eve--today!--and the 5th of January when in-studio classes return, pretty much entirely "off" from work, posting, and engagement. Rest, recovery, reveling in quiet and dark, reflecting, dreaming, scheming and planning are on my non-agenda. An exception are my online classes which will feature special year's transition classes for both Yummy Gentle Yoga and Balletlicious Adaptive Ballet next week. Wishing you a sweet Solstice, merry Christmas, happy Hannukah, cool Kwanzaa and whatever festivals of light you may participate in, a brilliant New Year, lovely vacation if you get some, and a wonderful time regardless of how you personally spend this time. Hello beautiful, Whether you are in a romantic place in life or not, I hope you feel loved in so many ways! I've missed you and feel we have much to catch up on. Self-love, friendship old and new, mentorship, family and chosen family love, I believe it is the most important thing, so it touched my heart to hear the resounding message in Bad Bunny's Superbowl 60 halftime show, among other powerful stories it told. "The only thing more powerful than hate is love." - Bad Bunny Happy Year of the...
Hello beautiful, Happy New Year! I hope you are having a mellow and fulfilling transition into 2026. For me it has been a slow and gentle liminal period of rest, reflection, celebration, starting to plan the year ahead but honoring the rhythms of my personal year, with no hard deadlines. I do like to set intentions and plan events each New Year, but take my time in doing so. Teaching online, in-studio and school, sharing resources on YouTube, articles on the blog, as well as on Social Media...
Hello beautiful, Now that Halloween and All Saint's Day have passed, we still celebrate cherished traditions and think of our beloved dead as the Holidays approach, with the full Beaver Moon on the 5th (according to the BBC, "The second of three consecutive supermoons of 2025 will coincide with Bonfire Night on Wednesday... 5 November. It will be the largest and brightest Moon this year."), Transgender Day of Remembrance on the 20th, and American Thanksgiving on the 27th. Of particular...
